Graduate Student takes on Teaching Fellow Position

Congratulations to graduate student Arthi Chinna Meyyappan for teaching her first class as a teaching fellow. Arthi taught PSYC*236 Clinical Psychology in the winter 2022 semester to over 300+ students at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, Canada. The purpose of the course was to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to theories of diagnoses, etiology, and treatment of various psychiatric illnesses.

Graduate student Arthi Chinna Meyyappan was recently featured and interviewed on SciSection’s Radio Show by journalist Amy Stewart. SciSection’s interviews shed light on the life of professors, researchers, and humans who are involved in or passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Their goal is to highlight all the amazing scientific research that is taking place across the world, through simple and understandable conversations with professors and researchers.

The podcast highlighted Arthi’s research on the gut-brain axis and how microbiota play a major role in depression and anxiety disorders. It also mentions how she became involved in research and the future of neuroscience as a whole.
